The Hungry Cow is a quality catering service located in Blaye, Gironde, in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region of France. We offer a wide range of services to suit any event. Everybody has different tastes, that’s why we listen to your needs to provide you with a tailored culinary experience that you’ll never forget.
Angus and I have been in the hospitality industry for all our working lives. We moved to France in 2008 to reconnect with classic French cuisine after travelling for a year and sampling food from all corners of the world.
Angus has been the chef/patron on pubs in London and the South East, being one of the first people to bring homemade sushi to a pub menu and coming runner up in the Evening Standard Pub of the year. In 2019 I left the top restaurant in Mayenne (The Living Room) where we won the Mayenne Slowly Days Award in 2018.
We decided to hone all our experience into setting up The Hungry Cow Food Truck and Catering. Our aim is to provide a bespoke food experience, listening to what the client wants and coming up with ideas to fulfil their brief.
We cater for all events, big or small, from weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and baptisms to canapés, dinner parties and BBQs. Our focus is on fresh, seasonal, locally sourced and homemade produce, with every menu thoughtfully crafted with our own unique twist to create something truly special and memorable for your occasion.
Our unique selling point is our one-of-a kind vintage food truck “Peggy” which looks in place at any venue. With a fully equipped kitchen we can serve more classic 3 course menus or a street food menu of your choice. This more relaxed way of dining offers your guests a unique food experience where they get to watch the food being prepared and served as they come to collect their food. Peggy the food truck can be placed at a venue of your choice where we can cook authentic street food from the country of your choice, pulling from the tastes and experiences of our travels.
